First Amendment

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
— The First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution

The first amendment to me means, being able to be who I want to be, and to stand up for whatever I want to (in most cases). Growing up I was raised Catholic, now that I can have my own ideas, and opinions without my parents influence I consider myself non denominational. This is a very basic example, but having freedom of religion is great because if we didn't have it, I would obviously be persecuted for not being of the Christian faith. Freedom of speech is also very important to me because I like that I can say what I want about certain subjects that some people (specially females) back then wouldn't have been able to.

This video relates to the First Amendment because it represents how sometimes rappers take the "freedom of speech" too far. Though rap music is one of my favorite genres of music, some rappers cross the line of freedom of speech and just being vulgar. I also think this does affect our children which in turn affect our country.

This picture relates to the First Amendment because it represents equality amongst people specially for the LGBT community. By the photographer taking these pictures represents his freedom to, well creativity. He doesn't physically say words, its his way of saying what he believes in. Pictures speak a thousand words.
