27th Amendment (last one)

No law, varying the compensation for the services of the Senators and Representatives, shall take effect, until an election of Representatives shall have intervened.

Again this one doesn't affect me of course unless I'm in the senate or a representative. Basically it is saying they can't give themselves a raise for no reason and in the middle of election and what not.

This is just a political cartoon showing how almost everybody is in a recession expect for those in congress. Which is pretty much unfair to the rest of the world.

This picture is pretty self explanatory, americans don't have that much money in general, but congressmen are loaded because they do get a raise, after each election probably. I'm sure there are ways around this amendment so that the poor congressmen never have to struggle a day in their life.

26th Amendment

SECTION 1.

The right of citizens of the United States, who are 18 years of age or older, to vote, shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or any state on account of age.

SECTION 2.

The Congress shall have the power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation.
This amendment relates to me because a little over a year ago I was 18, which means I gained my right to vote for things. Although I'm almost 20, I still haven't voted basically because I'm still at the point to where I'm not interested enough in politics even though it can affect my life a lot. I do know that there a lot of 18 year olds that are probably excited to gain this right. First things to do when turning 18 : Go to a strip club, buy a scratch off, buy cigarettes, and VOTE. WOOO!
This is just an example of getting kids involved in voting. I'm sure if I had someone take me to do it I probably would. I would never go by myself. So maybe this is depicting like an adult taking some newly 18 year olds to vote for the first time.
I picked this picture because I don't think us youth realize how much our vote counts. It could possibly affect something major going on in our world. The fact the adults made this amendment so that we could be heard at a young age is huge, and showing that time is changing. It use to be don't talk unless spoken to, but now we can talk and vote and be heard all around just by this amendment.

25th Amendment

SECTION 1.

In case of the removal of the President from office or of his death or resignation, the Vice President shall become President.

SECTION 2.

Whenever there is a vacancy in the office of the Vice President, the President shall nominate a Vice President who shall take office upon confirmation by a majority vote of both Houses of Congress.

SECTION 3.

Whenever the President transmits to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives his written declaration that he is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, and until he transmits to them a written declaration to the contrary, such powers and duties shall be discharged by the Vice President as Acting President.

SECTION 4.

Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President.
Thereafter, when the President transmits to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives his written declaration that no inability exists, he shall resume the powers and duties of his office unless the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive department or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit within four days to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office. Thereupon Congress shall decide the issue, assembling within forty-eight hours for that purpose if not in session. If the Congress, within twenty-one days after receipt of the latter written declaration, or, if Congress is not in session, within twenty-one days after Congress is required to assemble, determines by two-thirds vote of both Houses that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall continue to discharge the same as Acting President; otherwise, the President shall resume the powers and duties of his office.
These last few amendment's I feel like don't relate to me that much. Unless of course I wanted to become a president, but that is way off. This amendment just explains the line of succession again.
This would be the line of succession if president obama was murdered, or in any other way unable to fulfill his duties.
Obviously Joe Biden doesn't know his 25th amendment, because he thinks he is 2nd in line when obviously he is first. It's just funny how in school it is important for children to learn the constitution and government stuff, but our own leaders don't even know it that well.

24th Amendment

SECTION 1.

The right of citizens of the United States to vote in any primary or other election for President or Vice President, for electors for President or Vice President, or for Senator or Representative in Congress, shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or any state by reason of failure to pay any poll tax or other tax.

SECTION 2.

The Congress shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation.
This relates to me because if i wanted to vote and i didn't pay and poll tax or any other taxes I still have the right to vote. They can't take that away because I didn't pay.
This is just showing that people didn't have to pay to vote. It would be ridiculous to have to vote for pretty much your own opinion. I'm sure if there was a poll tax today not many people would vote.
In this drawing, to me. it looks like they tried to make the ballot box look kind of like a safe, which would infer that us voting equals them money. But it has an X going through it, so it kind of is saying that people shouldn't vote if it's going to cost.

23rd Amendment

SECTION 1.

The District constituting the seat of government of the United States shall appoint in such manner as the Congress may direct:
A number of electors of President and Vice President equal to the whole number of Senators and Representatives in Congress to which the District would be entitled if it were a state, but in no event more than the least populous state; they shall be in addition to those appointed by the states, but they shall be considered, for the purposes of the election of President and Vice President, to be electors appointed by a state; and they shall meet in the District and perform such duties as provided by the twelfth article of amendment.

SECTION 2.

The Congress shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation.
This again doesn't relate much to me. Just makes things more fair towards the USA Capital. Even though that is where they house the president. They also get their chance to be represented fairly in the office.
This is just a map of all the states that ratified this amendment. Just a nice visual to see that the majority of the united states was okay with DC being able to have 3 electoral votes.
Just a license plate showing that Washington DC can vote with their 3 electors during the presidential elections.

22nd Amendment

SECTION 1.

No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once. But this article shall not apply to any person holding the office of President when this article was proposed by the Congress, and shall not prevent any person who may be holding the office of President, or acting as President, during the term within which this article becomes operative from holding the office of President or acting as President during the remainder of such term.

SECTION 2.

This article shall be inoperative unless it shall have been ratified as an amendment to the Constitution by the legislatures of three-fourths of the several states within seven years from the date of its submission to the states by the Congress.
Again this amendment doesn't affect me at all. I guess it could because if I'm a democrat and the same republican keeps being reelected then it would then affect things. Because you can't just always have the same person in "power" all the time. Change is good.
FDR (Franklin D. Roosevelt) was the only president to serve more the 2- 4 year terms, and basically he was the reason they came up with this idea. Even though George Washington thought that the presidents should have a limited time in office because he wanted to avoid what  they left, which was having a king. So from the beginning of our nation the 2 -4 year terms has been an idea.
Like I said earlier, change is good. Sometimes the people that we vote in aren't always the best choice so after 8 years no matter what we have to change, which I think is it great idea.

21st Amendment

SECTION 1.

The eighteenth article of amendment to the Constitution of the United States is hereby repealed.

SECTION 2.

The transportation or importation into any state, territory, or possession of the United States for delivery or use therein of intoxicating liquors, in violation of the laws thereof, is hereby prohibited.

SECTION 3.

This article shall be inoperative unless it shall have been ratified as an amendment to the Constitution by conventions in the several states, as provided in the Constitution, within seven years from the date of the submission hereof to the states by the Congress.

I guess this applies to me because when I'm 21 I am able to drink when and almost wherever I want.
I put this because it shows how big of a deal it was that the prohibition was over. I'm sure all alcoholics around the world were extremely excited. I know if you could see the rest of the paper you'd see a crowd full of people cheering and being excited that it was over.
Again showing how excited people were that the prohibition was over. Also they just brought out all the beer they were hiding. They had the biggest drunken feast you could possibly think of probably.
